Four Fridays this summer … Sunset Sessions in the beer garden!
When Melbourne is hot like Mali the exuberant vocal flair, intricate guitar lines and driving drumbeats of ‘griot moderne’ Aboubacar Djéliké Kouyate (Mali/France) will transport you into the West African landscape and village life along the Niger river. Now based in France and currently in Melbourne for a 3-month summer tour, Aboubacar brings a contemporary interpretation to the traditional ‘griot’ art form, combining his masterful command of voice, instrument and rhythm into compelling songs that will make you wanna get up and dance – or get on a plane and travel to distant lands!
Catch him in the Miss Moses beer garden on select Friday evenings in Jan and Feb from 6pm. Entry is Free
